Rodda Paint helps to “Green” ABC’s Extreme Makeover: Home Edition Donates over 350 gallons of paint to Oregon School for the Deaf
Rodda Paint Co. donated over 325 gallons of paint in more than 20 colors, including its Horizon zero VOC product, to the Oregon School for the Deaf (OSD) in Salem as part of a haunted makeover for ABC’s Extreme Makeover: Home Edition (EMHE). The episode, which airs Halloween night, involved renovating OSD’s Nightmare Factory Haunted House, an annual fundraising activity for the 140 year-old school.
All of the paint and sundries were donated out of the Rodda Paint Co. Salem store which has been serving the area since the early 1980s. Rodda Paint’s Salem store manager Pat Pence and his crew, as well as outside sales representative Alan Wilding, were available throughout the makeover to tint and deliver product as needed onsite. All lived up to Rodda’s service-oriented reputation by going the extra mile which included keeping the store open for extended hours to ensure there were no issues related to paint during the tight production schedule. Rodda Paint manufactures all of its products in Portland, Oregon a little over 50 miles from the site.
Horizon is an interior zero VOC low odor product line manufactured by Rodda Paint Company since 1995 and includes primer, flat, satin & semi-gloss finishes in a four base structure that can be tinted to any color.
Rich Duncan Construction, the primary builder for the show, received a Gold LEEDS certification for the makeover, and Rodda assisted by donating Horizon as the main wall paint for the project. Rodda Paint is a proud member of the Strategic Economic Development Corporation of Marion and Polk Counties (Sedcor), another partner on the EMHE project. Sedcor’s mission is to enhance and diversify the economy of the Mid-Willamette Valley.
The Emmy award winning reality program “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition,” now in its 8th season, is produced by Endemol USA, a division of Endemol Holding. It’s executive-produced by Brady Connell and George Verschoor. David Goldberg is Chairman, Endemol North America. The show airs Sundays from 8:00-9:00 p.m., ET on ABC.
