Job Summary:

Assist in the day to day operations of Distribution Center safely and accurately, pulling and preparing stock shipments for distribution to Rodda Miller Paint locations and other external customers.

Job Description:

  • Set up cans.
  • Boxes/tray packs 4/1 gallons
  • Hand palletizes 5-gallon pails and 4/1-gallon trays.
  • Cleans up equipment, including washing tank.
  • Clean up work area.
  • Put away stock.
  • Fold cardboard trays
  • Match current paint can label with respective paint can.
  • Fill out batch cards, including time and quantities.

Other job-related items as assigned.

Job Responsibilities:
  •  Receiving, selecting, storing and loading products and materials
  • Precise checking in and stocking of paint and sundry orders
  • Ensure all shipments meet company quality control standards
  • Complete proper procedures to complete bills of lading when required
  • Completion of assigned cycle counts submit inventory adjustments to DC Lead or DC Manager
  • SKU Aisle / slot adjustments in system
  • Maintaining schedule of assigned timed loads
  • Perform required pre-shift safety and maintenance checks of equipment.
  • Required product and quantity verification.
  • Receiving and unloading materials/ stock from trucks, verifying delivered goods against PO, entering data into company inventory system (JDE), and picking orders based on manufacturing order.
  • Move and place product into correct warehouse location.
  • Foster communication and teamwork among staff to ensure accomplishment of operational goals.
  • Represent the DC in a professional manner.
  • Understand all safety procedures; ensure safe work practices are followed and maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Operate forklift and all other machinery competently and safely.
  • Report faulty equipment, damage to racks, and other safety hazards to supervisor.
  • Inventory product as needed. Label, sort, wrap, and tie product.
  • Timely and accurately expedite daily shipments to Company standards as directed.
  • Proficient in accurately ‘picking’ and knowledge of paint and sundry products.
  • Exercise proper picking & stock rotation standards and practices.
  • Operate use of scanner guns to accurately pick shipments.
  • Proficiently stock and remove overstock as directed.
  • Utilize and understand procedures for shipping with UPS and other freight carriers.
Knowledge, Skills, Requirements and Essential Functions:
  • Prior warehouse training or experience is required (progressed through WH01 position). Experience and working knowledge of warehouse systems, processes and productivity standards
  • Demonstrated responsibility, maturity and leadership ability
  • Daily use of JDE system and Outlook
  • Initiative to work with minimal instruction and direction
  • Possess a sense of urgency required to work in a deadline driven environment
  • Certified Forklift Operator (Standard and Crown)
  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • Fluent in reading and writing English words and numbers at a 12th grade level. Ability to read and compare letters/numbers.
Physical Requirements:
  • The work environment consists of physical conditions typical of a manufacturing plant. The job is performed while standing with regular walking on a concrete / asphalt surface and the lifting and carrying of various job-related items. Full-physical mobility is required for the performance of all manufacturing positions.  Including:  standing and walking (constantly) lifting to waist level, and carrying (up to 80 lbs.), crawling occasionally. Lifting (occasional, pails, bags, buckets, boxes, equipment most often 15 – 80 lbs.); Carrying (occasional, 10 – 80 lbs., up to 70 ft); Reaching (frequent, floor to waist, at waist and shoulder level, fully extended); Push/Pull (occasional, sliding boxes, pallets and batches, up to 100 lbs. of force); Bend/Stoop (continuous, picking up product, loading unloading); Climb/Balance (occasional, stairs, while carrying items in hand); Handling (continuous) buckets, box knife, pallet jack, hand truck, supplies, paperwork, broom/mop
