Profitably grow sales and market share by building successful customer relationships, effective prospecting, and target account development. Establish Rodda-Miller Paint as the primary supplier in given market region.
Meet and achieve short and long-term financial, strategic, and personal performance objectives as set forth by management. Effective time management and “territory planning” are essential skills that will be required to increase sales and margin to existing customers while developing new relationships with target accounts within a wide variety of customer segments. Ability to work independently and be a self-starter; to follow supervisor’s instructions and work cooperatively with co-workers; maintain regular and timely attendance.

- Complete knowledge and understanding of Rodda credit policies, bad debt at or below budgeted levels.
- Maintain territory expenses at or below budgeted levels.
Technical Proficiency:
- Demonstrate an excellent working knowledge of all aspects of business and the ability to transfer knowledge to others.
- Possess vast knowledge of all Rodda mfg. and related products.
- Possess a good working knowledge of key related products that complement the Rodda offering.
- Provide excellent advice regarding specification, application, surface prep, as well as assisting in trouble shooting and problem solving.
- Maintain a good working knowledge of competitive products and product trends.
- Demonstrate excellent “Time Management” and “Territory Planning” skills.
- Master all phases of company software and hardware as it relates to the position.
- Complete understanding of Rodda credit policies and the six ways to sell paint on credit.
- Ensure professional and accurate communications, both internally and externally.

Requirements:
- College degree preferred, or five years of equivalent experience in sales and management, with a track record of exceeding expectations; paint or construction related industry.
- The ability to travel extensively within the outlined region is required, with unlimited use of a suitable personal or company leased vehicle.
- Effective time and organizational management to provide results when handling multiple priorities.
- Driving: The ability to legally drive on business is an essential function of this position. Present & sustain a Motor Vehicles Record (MVR), which is consistent with company safe-driving guidelines. In context of this description ‘legal’ means: Personal liability insurance at the state minimum; possession of an active, unrestricted driver’s license issued by the state of residence; no more than three (3) convictions for ‘moving’ violations in the trailing 36-months; no ‘criminal traffic’ convictions (negligence, DUII/DWI, racing, reckless, vehicular homicide/assault, etc.) in the trailing 60-months. For employees receiving an auto allowance they must maintain the following coverage: $2,000,000 Bodily Injury and
- Property Damage Liability; $500 Collision Deductible; $500 Comprehensive Deductible.
- Oral communication and presentation skills: Proficient; fully conversant (speaking, listening), fluent in English
- Reading and writing skills: Efficient; reading and writing documents in standard English text.
- Mathematical Skills: Efficient and accurate in adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing whole numbers, fractions, and decimals. Understanding of measures and weights.
- Computer efficiency in using software / technical programs, Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, PowerPoint, Canvas, internet navigation, Learning Academy, JDE/AS400/POS, etc.
- Schedule & availability must remain flexible with the ability to work extended hours particularly during “the season”
Full-physical mobility is required to perform this position. Ability to transport oneself and transfer products, as needed, without assistance.
