Basic UseA high solids, high-build chemically cured epoxy coating. Intermediate/finish coat for use on properly primed steel, masonry, and non-ferrous metal surfaces. High build formulation offers ease of application to reduce application costs. Highly resistant to abrasion and chemicals. May be used direct to properly prepared bare steel.

Prep & Prime
Surfaces must be clean, dry and free of contaminants such as wax, oils, grease, weld splatter, or loose mil/scale/rust. As a minimum, SSPC-SPC Hand Tool Cleaning or SSPC-SPC3 Machine Tool Cleaning is recommended. Smooth surfaces should be abraded to enhance adhesion. Improved performance can be achieved with SSPC-SP6 Commercial Blast. All surfaces prepared for painting should be coated within 8 hours of completion of surface prep.
MasonryRopon High Solids Epoxy may be used on masonry surfaces when surface is properly prepared. Consult Rodda Paint Co. for recommendations.
MetalAll surfaces to be painted must be clean, dry and maintained at 50 degrees Fahrenheit or greater throughout curing of the system.
WallboardRopon High Solids Epoxy may be used on wallboard surfaces when surface is properly prepared. Consult Rodda Paint Co. for recommendations.
Application
Do not apply when air or surface temperatures are expected to drop below 50 degrees F. or rise above 95 degrees F. during application and drying. Spray application recommended, may be brushed or rolled on small areas.
CoatsOne or more depending on desired dry film thickness.
BrushSmall items may be brushed. Natural bristle 3 to 4 inch brush. Apply with full strokes. Avoid rebrushing until paint is dry.
Roller / PadSmall areas, use top quality polyester cover.
Airless SprayRecommended pressure 2000 to 2500 psi, using .013 to .017 tip orifice.
HVLPUse approxiamately five pounds fluid and ten pounds atomizing air.
