Basic UseCat-A-Lac is an internally acid catalyzed chemical resistant wood finish that eliminates the need to mix expensive, limited potlife, two component lacquers. Exhibits excellent resistance to impact, acid, alkali and solvent. A premium quality, clear wood finish for fine quality kitchen cabinets, doors, millwork or other interior wood surfaces. Cat-A-Lac develops good film build and depth as well as excellent resistance to household detergents, household chemicals, cold checking, marring and abrasion.

Prep & Prime
Surfaces to be coated must be free of dirt, oil, mildew, excessive chalk and other foreign matter. Remove loose paint and patch holes or cracks. Prime bare surfaces, dull or prime glossy surfaces, and then scuff sand using 80 to 100 grit sandpaper on a hand sander. remove all sanding dust.
MetalNot recommended for these surfaces
WoodWood surfaces should be free of foreign matter and properly sanded. Cat-A-Lac may be used as a self-seal system. Dry and sand as a conventional sealer. Do not use a stearated sealer under Cat-A-Lac.
Application
Surface temperatures should be above 50 degrees Fahrenheit. Where humid conditions exist, blushing may occur. Use 799464 Lacquer Retarder when these conditions exist. This is a high build sealer and contains sanding aids; thus, it cannot be sprayed hot.
Airless SprayUse equipment capable of constant 1800 psi at tip. An .012" to .018" tip is recommended.
HVLPDeVilbiss JGHV 531 MP or equivalent.
Conventional SprayBinks Slimline Mach 1 or equivalent gun. 92 Air Cap with 92 nozzle. Use double regulated air pot with 5 - 7 psi air pressure at gun.
