Prep & Prime
Surfaces to be painted should be cured, clean, dry and free of foreign materials before coating.
Asphalt May be applied directly to surface. Allow new asphalt to cure a minimum of two weeks before painting.
Application
Ideal surface temperatures for coating are 50 - 80 degrees for maximum efficiency. Spreading rate to approximate 1200 lineal feet of standard 4" stripe per gallon will result in a dry film thickness of 2 mils (allowing 20% loss for spraying).
Coats 1 is adequate
Brush Not recommended due to quick dry times
Roller / Pad Not recommended due to quick dry times
Airless Spray Spray with a 215 tip (or the equivilent 1704 traffic striping tip) to acheive a 4" line, or refer to tip manufacturers recommendation chart.
