Basic Use A low HAP's, high solids, high build, quick drying, lead and chromate free rust inhibitive primer. Formulated to allow for above standard dry film protection in a single application. Barrier III High Solids will provide good weathering characteristics to protect metal in storage, transit, or during erection. Exhibits weldability in this films.

Dry Times
Dry time will vary depending upon film thickness, temperatures, humidity, etc. Allowing overnight dry will give fastest system adhesion when topcoated.

Prep & Prime
Surfaces must be clean, dry, and free of contaminants such as wax, oils, grease, weld splatter, loose mil, scale, rust. As a minimum SSPC-SPC Hand Tool Cleaning or SSPC-SPC3 Machine Tool Cleaning is recommended for interior exposure. Smooth surfaces should be abraded to enhance adhesion. Improved performance can be achieved with and SSPC-SPC6 Commercial Blast. All surfaces prepared for painting should be coated within 8 hours of completion of surface prep.
Masonry Check with coatings representative.
Metal Surfaces to be primed must be thoroughly cleaned of all foreign material by sandblasting, wire brushing, wheel abrading, etc. All grease, cutting oil, etc. must be removed prior to priming. For best results, prime metal immediately after cleaning.
Wood Check with coatings representative.
Application
The paint will apply easier if kept stored in a heated area. Apply by airless or conventional spray.
Brush Use a top quality natural bristle brush is recommended.
Roller / Pad Use a top quality polyester roller cover
Airless Spray Use equipment capable of constant 1850 psi at tip. A .013" to .019" tip orifice.
HVLP .055 - .70 nozzle, 8 - 10 psi air cap atomizing air.
Conventional Spray DeVilbiss JGA gun or equivalent is recommended. Fluid pressure of 20 lbs.; atomizing pressure; 35 40 psi.
