Surfaces must be clean, dry, and free of contaminants such as wax, oils, grease, weld splatter, loose mil, scale, rust. As a minimum SSPC-SPC Hand Tool Cleaning or SSPC-SPC3 Machine Tool Cleaning is recommended for interior exposure. Smooth surfaces should be abraded to enhance adhesion. Improved performance can be achieved with and SSPC-SPC6 Commercial Blast. All surfaces prepared for painting should be coated within 8 hours of completion of surface prep.
MetalSurfaces to be primed must be thoroughly cleaned of all foreign material by sandblasting, wire brushing, wheel abrading, etc. All grease, cutting oil, etc., must be removed prior to priming. For best results prime metal immediately after cleaning.
Application
