Basic UseScotseal is an excellent product for use as a drywall primer under alkyd or emulsion type finish coats. Scotseal is designed to achieve excellent hold-out and eliminate variations in texture between the wallboard and joint compound surfaces.

Prep & Prime
Surfaces to be coated must be free of dirt, oil, mildew, excessive chalk and other foreign matter. Remove loose paint and patch holes or cracks. Prime bare surfaces, dull or prime glossy surfaces and then scuff sand using 80 to 100 grit sandpaper on a hand sander. Remove all sanding dust. Do not apply over unprimed metal.
WallboardInterior wallboard surfaces should be thoroughly cured and cleaned of all dust, etc. before painting.
Application
Do not apply when air or surface temperatures are expected to drop below 50 Deg F. or rise above 95 Deg F. during application and drying. Please see above for expected dry times.
BrushUse a top quality nylon/polyester brush .
Roller / PadUse a top quality synthetic roller cover.
Airless SprayUse equipment capable of constant 1800 psi at tip. An .013" to .019" tip orifice.
Conventional SprayDeVilbiss JGA Gun or equivalent. Fluid pressure 25 - 30 psi; pressure 40 - 50 psi.
