Basic Use This primer has been designed for use with Horizon Exterior top coats providing a complete low odor system. Horizon Exterior Latex Primer is a fast drying pigmented acrylic emulsion coating designed for use as a prime coat on exterior interior: new or previously coated wood, masonry, concrete, hardboard, stucco, plaster, clean galvanized steel, aluminum metal and primed ferrous metal.

Prep & Prime
Masonry Should be clean and free from dirt, oil, grease and efflorescence and other foreign matter.
Metal Galvanized: 501501x Horizon Primer may be applied directly to weathered galvanized surfaces.
New Galvanized: Surfaces must be properly treated.
Ferrous Metal: Prime with suitable rust inhibitive metal primer: 7082xxx Barrier III High Solids Metal Primer.
Coated Metal: Clean thoroughly.
Wallboard Should be clean and free of dirt, oil, grease and other contaminants before painting.
Wood Should be clean and free from dirt, oil, grease and other foreign matter.
Application
Brush Use a top quality nylon/polyester brush .
Roller / Pad Use a top quality synthetic roller cover.
Airless Spray Equipment capable of maintaining constant 1800 psi at the tip. Use a .013" to .019" tip orifice.
Conventional Spray DeVilbiss JGA Gun or equivalent. Fluid pressure 25 - 30 psi; atomizing pressure 40 - 50 psi.
