Prep & Prime
All surfaces to be painted must be clean and dry. Remove all traces of peeling and flaking paint by whatever means necessary on repainting jobs. OSHD inspector will determine substrate's suitability for painting on state jobs.
MasonryNew concrete should be allowed 28 days to cure at approximately 70 degrees Fahrenheit. Suspect areas may be tested by ASTM D4263 The Plastic Sheet Method and/or with a pH test.
All Form oils, release agents, grease, oil, dirt, and powdery residues should be removed. Surface cleaning methods which may be used include vacuum cleaning, compressed air blow down, or water cleaning per ASTM D4258.
MetalAll metal should be properly primed prior to painting.
WallboardAll surfaces to be coated must be dry and clean. For best results, prime each substrate prior to topcoating.
WoodAll surfaces to be coated must be dry and clean. For best results, prime each substrate prior to topcoating.
Application
The surface should be dry and above 45 degrees Fahrenheit at the time of paint application.
