Paint Office Walls
Project Scenario
Kevin is a commercial painter. He wants "Eggshell" to repaint offices and hallways at Big Deal, Inc. What product does he want?
Preparation
- Patch holes as required and spot prime.
- Spot prime any bare substrates.
- If current paint is a gloss alkyd coating, scuff sand with 150 grit sandpaper to create "tooth" and prime with First Coat Interior/Exterior Primer.
- Black scuff marks from shoes should be primed with Z-Prime primer.
Primer Coat (Bare gypsum wall board)
Caution! Things to consider
- The higher the gloss or sheen, the more durable, but the more the substrate imperfections will appear.
- The lower the gloss or sheen, the better the wall will appear, but scrub resistance will not be as strong.
- Eggshell is a generic term - use draw downs to verify expectations of gloss or use.
- Horizon Interior paints will dry odor free for those employees who are sensitive to paint smell.
